Social Media Introvert

On social media, I rarely comment on the work of others.  I want to, but I don’t.  The biggest reason is I can never think of anything witty to say.  As I think of comments to make, my mind immediately generates a negative dialogue.  “Don’t write that,” my mind says, it’s too obvious, inane, fanboy-ish, or sounds insincere – even when coming from a place of sincerity.

I feel comments on social media shouldn’t be a simple “attaboy”.  They should be a hook for a dialogue, however brief.  I am going to challenge myself to post at least one quality comment a day on social media regarding someone’s work.

Above image is Portra 400 shot with a Nikon F100, developed and scanned by Downtown Camera in Toronto, ON.  It is part of a series of postcards I am working on featuring Prince Edward County.

I am a film photographer based in Prince Edward County. I make images of people, places, and things - you know, nouns.
