“I’ve never been planning my life, I don’t think I ever knew how to do that, or why. I guess that’s what got me where I am now, which is nowhere in particular, really.”
The above is a quote from Petra van der Ree’s post, “Mountains May Depart”. When I read it, I found it to be quite arresting. It perfectly summed up an unexpressed sentiment of my own about my life. I’ve never planned my life, I just had numerous dreams that demanded a focus and effort I never afforded them. Perhaps, if there had been some strong role-model in my life when I was younger, some mentor, things (and me) may have turned out different. Although, I likely wouldn’t have listened.
Now, my past indifference to the future, my future, has placed me precisely where I am: here. But where is here?
